How to decide
Eventually a mother needs to make a decision. She needs to make a choice that is best for her, her baby, and her family. To do this, she needs to talk to people in her community. She can talk with women who have used these different choices. She can ask them why they made the choice they did, what happened and whether they were satisfied. She can talk with local doctors and midwives to discover their birth philosophies.
Mothers-to-be can visit local hospitals and birth centres. They can look around and ask questions, take a moment to close their eyes and picture themselves in that setting. They can ask themselves, "How do I feel here? Can I feel comfortable here? Do I see myself giving birth here? Do I feel safe here?"
There is no ONE place where a mother feels most safe. If she can feel safe and comfortable, then she will be able to open up and birth her baby into her loving arms.
